Crafted from an 11-ply Poplar shell with a shallow 2.5" depth, it features a rounded thumb slot for comfortable handling and an internal through-shell tuning system that keeps the outer rim flush. Outfitted with a durable, weather-resistant synthetic head and finished in an elegant black-to-natural fade, this 20-inch hand drum comes complete with a protective carrying bag and LP’s convenient Easy-Clip tuning key.

Ergonomic Playability

Command the room with the booming, resonant voice of the LP Tunable Tar Frame Drum, 20″ x 2.5″. Designed by Latin Percussion to honor traditional Middle Eastern and North African frame drums while providing modern durability, this 20-inch model offers the maximum low-end acoustic warmth in the series, making it a centerpiece instrument for world music ensembles, sound healing, and studio sessions.

Engineered for massive projection while remaining light and comfortable in hand:
-11-Ply Poplar Shell: The wide 20-inch diameter produces a deep, subterranean bass tone ("doum") with rich harmonic overtones, while the shallow 2.5-inch depth keeps weight manageable for fluid performance.
-Rounded Thumb Slot: Features a smoothly contoured thumb notch carved directly into the frame, providing a balanced, anti-fatigue grip during extended playing sessions.
-Black-to-Natural Fade: Finished in a smooth, high-class gradient that accentuates the natural wood grain for a timeless look on stage.
